Layette for the 21st century
2024 Self production, France
This project aims to update the layette, a small traditional French furniture. It takes the form of a family of small spruce storage units for all the essential needs of daily life. Lightweight, sturdy, mobile, practical and durable, these layettes allow you to store, organise and protect the things you care about. By using these small pieces of furniture that grow in beauty over time and to which we become attached, one can enrich its daily life by feeling the quality of the wood and the work of the craftsman’s hand.
Each layette is handmade in France by Bruno Marielle, last remaining layette maker.
